John
($\frac{5}{6}$)x + 1 = ($\frac{216}{125}$)2x + 3

this is the same as

($\frac{5}{6}$)x + 1 = ($\frac{125}{216}$)-2x - 3; ($\frac{5}{6}$)x + 1 = ($\frac{5^3}{6^3}$)-2x - 3

($\frac{5}{6}$)x + 1 = ($\frac{5}{6}$)-3(2x + 3)

x + 1 = -6x - 9

7x = - 10; x = -$\frac{10}{7}$
